Senior Accountant - Therma
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations and financial reporting. The role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in GAAP accounting, payroll, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead financial projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Assist with job cost, revenue recognition and WIP reporting.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations/accruals.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
- Assist with the implementation of internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements, including identifying segregation of duties issues.
- Assist with the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, opportunities for improvement and guidance to management.
- Support the external audit process, ensuring all information is provided accurately and on time.
- Assist with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking.
- Respond to accounting inquiries from staff and management in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, CPA or 4-7 years of related experience.
- Proficiency with, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Proficiency with accounting software, including Quickbooks, IFS, and Onestream, is preferred, but not required.
- 4 or more years of professional accounting experience with focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Prior experience working in the construction industry preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
