Title:     Director, FP&A

Position Overview:

AMA Group is seeking a Director of FP&A to join the Accounting and Finance team in our New York office. The Director of FP&A will report directly to the Controller and work closely with the broader accounting and finance team to lead and oversee the organization's financial planning, forecasting, and analysis activities, ensuring alignment with business strategy and making data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.

 

Role Responsibilities:

As the Director of FP&A, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and issuing monthly management and business unit financial packages, including internal management financial statements.
  • Managing the monthly revenue recognition process in accordance with U.S. GAAP percentage of completion (POC) standards and maintaining project POC/WIP schedules.
  • Preparing key monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date analytics and trends, including actual vs budget and current vs prior period results.
  • Maintaining and tracking KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Driving the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial planning cycles, and maintaining budget and financial models.
  • Analyzing operating results and trends to deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Assisting senior leadership in the development of strategic plans, and monitoring progress towards achieving goals/targets.
  • Partnering with business unit leaders to understand cost drivers, revenue streams, and project profitability.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of business initiatives, market trends, and competitive forces.
  • Building and enhancing financial systems, tools, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Collaborating closely with the Accounting team to align planning with actuals and reporting standards.
  • Assisting with special projects and year end audit requests as needed.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CMA preferred.

 

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior FP&A leadership role.
  • Experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry or professional services preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a Private Equity-backed environment.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; working knowledge of Deltek, Power BI, and/or Adaptive Insights a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement analysis, and operational finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and drive financial performance.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
