Work with Manager, Computing Platforms to support product teams and specify systems and solutions which support product roadmaps and the strategic direction of the department.

What the job is all about:

• Assist in managing parts and BOMs in Oracle Agile
• Assist in managing all marketing codes in Oracle Agile
• Assist in managing all software ECOs/MCOs on completion of release checklists
• Work with the on prem Product Compliance group to ensure platforms meet regulatory requirements for global export
• Provide required documentation for compliance, Product Managers, Tech Support and Commissioners (as needed, in coordination with Technical Writers)
• Maintain up-to-date list of all PWF product team resources (servers, VMs, storage)
• Coordinate the provisioning of VMs for product teams
• Support PWF product teams with development and deployment initiatives using Linux, Docker and AI
• Working with IT, maintain PWF control room/studio equipment, network and racks.
• Track product certification with various OS providers
• Provide support to Technical Support group on resolving computer system issues in the field

Under the direction of the Manager, Computing Platforms, provide assistance with the following:

• Assembly, and qualification of prototype computer systems:
  • Research and procure appropriate system hardware and software components.
  • Perform and document compatibility and performance testing of hardware and software components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform design issues
  •  Perform and document system validation testing, including power, thermal and acoustic profiling
  • Generate manufacturing design documentation for computer systems, including scripts, procedures and system images as necessary

Who you are:

Experience with servers, IT, and networking including:

Windows 10 and 11:

1. Installation and Configuration: Proficiency in installing and configuring both Windows 10 and Windows 11, including understanding system requirements and setup processes.
2. User Management: Skills in creating, managing, and securing user accounts, as well as configuring user settings and profiles.
3. Troubleshooting: Experience in diagnosing and resolving common issues such as startup problems, driver conflicts, and software errors.
4. Updates and Maintenance: Knowledge of managing Windows updates, system backups, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure system stability and security.
5. Resolving Device Driver Errors

Linux:

1. Installation and Setup: Proficiency in installing and configuring Ubuntu, including partitioning, bootloader configuration, and package management.
2. Command Line Proficiency: Strong skills in using the terminal for various administrative tasks, including file management, system monitoring, and software installation.
3. Network Configuration: Experience in configuring network interfaces, managing network services, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
4. System Maintenance: Knowledge of keeping Ubuntu systems updated, managing services and processes, and ensuring overall system health.
5. Resolving Device Driver Errors

Knowledge of system administration:

1. Backup and Recovery: Create complete backups of your system, which can be restored in case of data loss, system failure, or hardware issues.
2. System Deployment: Deploy a standard system image across multiple computers, ensuring consistency and saving time on setup.
3. Disk Cloning: Clone one disk to another, transferring all data and settings without having to reinstall the operating system and applications.
4. Migration: Move data and settings from one computer to another, useful when upgrading hardware or replacing a faulty system.
5. Disaster Recovery: Quickly restore a system to its previous state after a disaster, such as a ransomware attack or hardware failure.
