Hourly: $24.00 Undergraduate / $26.00 Graduate 
Level: Intern

Location: Long Beach, California

 

Internship Program

The internship program aims to offer a positive work/training experience aligned with career goals and education level. Interns will be part of the Fire Protection Design Studio team, gaining hands-on experience in office and field settings and actively contributing to client projects. The program emphasizes real-world industry exposure, including visits to project sites and internal training opportunities, fostering a unique learning experience and encouraging participation in company events.

 

Schedule

The Summer Internship lasts 10-12 weeks, starting in June and ending in August - September, depending on the candidate's availability.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Project Support:
• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
• Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.

 

Design and Prototyping:
• Contribute to the design process by creating and modifying engineering drawings.
• Participate in prototyping activities to test and validate design concepts.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
• Assist in conducting tests to ensure the functionality and reliability of engineering solutions.
• Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and address potential issues.

 

Documentation:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
• Generate reports and summaries to communicate project progress.

 

Collaboration:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Participate in team meetings, providing valuable insights and feedback.
Learning and Development:
• Engage in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
• Seek opportunities for continuous learning and development within the engineering field.

 

Requirements

•Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Electrical Engineering. 
•Training in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus
•FE/EIT is a plus
•Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards
•Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic and multiple-engagement environment, dedication to teamwork, a strong work initiative, and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas; detail-oriented
