Employment Logistics:
Location: Remote
Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary Range: 182 – 206K Annually + Bonus
The Director of Capacity Planning and Network Design will support our operations team, supervising all matters pertaining to operational staffing functions. This entails ensuring strategic alignment and economic stability throughout the organization while developing new technology, planning and reporting tools. This position aims to optimize shareholder value by emphasizing operational excellence and financial efficiency as we optimize our staffing solutions.

Your Mission in Motion:
Network Design & Optimization:
- Oversee the design and optimization of the OnTrac parcel delivery network to balance cost, efficiency, and service levels.
- Set and manage transit times for all shipping lanes, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and operational feasibility.
- Continuously analyze and improve the transportation network to enhance service reliability, reduce costs, and improve transit efficiency.
- Implement innovative logistics solutions, including hub-and-spoke models, direct injection strategies, and alternative delivery methods.
Capacity Planning:
- Develop and maintain capacity planning models to align production, labor, and equipment with demand forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze production schedules and resource utilization to prevent capacity shortages or excess inventory.
- Collaborate with operations, transportation, and external vendors to proactively address capacity constraints.
- Ensure facilities, fleet, and workforce are optimally allocated to meet peak demand while maintaining cost efficiency.
Forecasting & Demand Planning:
- Lead demand and supply forecasting efforts using historical data, trends, and market insights.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to incorporate seasonality, promotions, and new service offerings into forecasts.
- Develop contingency plans for demand fluctuations, peak seasons, and unexpected supply chain disruptions.
- Leverage AI, machine learning, and data analytics to refine and improve forecasting accuracy.
Data Analysis & Performance Reporting:
- Analyze key performance metrics (KPIs) related to network efficiency, capacity utilization, transit time compliance, and labor productivity.
- Develop and present reports to senior leadership on network performance, cost trends, and capacity planning effectiveness.
- Drive data-driven decision-making by identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership:
- Partner with operations, finance, and technology teams to align network design with business objectives.
- Engage with external carriers, third-party logistics providers, and suppliers to enhance capacity planning and network efficiency.
- Lead a team of analysts and planners, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in logistics, supply chain, and network optimization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in network design, capacity planning, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Industry Knowledge: Expertise in parcel delivery, transportation networks, and logistics operations, preferably with a national or global carrier.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network modeling software, supply chain analytics, forecasting tools, and optimization techniques.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and influence decision-making at the executive level.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and drive operational improvements.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong presentation skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
